In-class exam policies & procedures

• These are general policies. 

  • Please check the course news forum in Moodle for changes, clarifications, or updates.
    
    
• Bring your clicker!
  
  
• You may bring ONE sheet (8.5"x11") of notes
  
  

  • You may use both sides of the sheet

  • You may write out your notes or use a computer printer or copier

  • You may include tables and diagrams

  • It's a very good idea to include information that the instructor has TOLD you to expect on the exam

  • You must have your NAME on the sheet; it will be turned with the exam

• You must use a #2 pencil (I'll have a few extras with me)
  
  
  • Be sure to bring a good eraser , too!
    
    
  • You must use white correction fluid or white correction tape on all erasures, even if they look like they are completely erased (I'll provide some fluid/tape or you may bring your own)
    
    
• There are generally no make-up exams after the last exam is given. However, if you must miss your exam you can take it with another class at their scheduled time.
  
  
  • One of the purposes of Extra Credit is to insure that your grade is not harmed (too badly) if you have to miss an exam.
    
    
• No animal noises during the exam, please. Also:
  
  
  • Nothing on the table except your exam, notes, pencils, and correction fluid
    
    
  • No use of cell phones, smart phones, stupid phones, pagers, PDAs, iPods, computers, secret agent decoder rings, walkie-talkies, or any other such devices
    
    
  • All books and other notes must be completely stowed away.  No cups, sandwiches, backpacks, sacks of White Castles, snacks, drugs, hypodermic needles, or other non-test items (except with prior approval from instructor and only for emergency/medical reasons).
    
    
  • No talking, singing, or tapping in Morse Code in the room once the exam is handed out to the first student
    
    
  • Anything that APPEARS to be cheating will be treated as cheating!
