My clicker points are missing
Clicker points are not automatically uploaded to Moodle during class. They are instead collected in the clicker receiver and uploaded manually every two weeks or so. So expect that not all your more recent clicker points will be reported in Moodle.
If the date you attended class is listed in the Moodle grade book, then the clicker points for that date have already been uploaded and you should see your points reported.
You will notice that there are some dates that have no clicker points. That's because the Moodle grade book serves ALL sections of your course taught by Kevin. So there won't be points reported for you on days that you your class does not meet. So if you think clicker points are missing check the dates against a calendar to make sure your class actually met on the dates in question.
If you really were present on a date with missing clicker points, it could be that
- you forgot to turn on the clicker during class
- the clicker shut itself off automatically and you didn't turn it when you answered a question
- your batteries are too weak to send a signal to the receiver
- your clicker has accidentally changed to the wrong frequency
ALL of the above issues can be avoided by making sure you get a green light EACH TIME you use your clicker.
In BIO 240/241, clicker points are NOT included in the total course points. Instead, at the END of the semester the clicker points are used to calculate Participation Points. Please refer to your course syllabus to find out how Participation Points are calculated.
If you think there are mistakes in how your clicker points are reported, you must notify Kevin immediately.
