You CAN afford it!
In today's global
society,
can you afford NOT to see the world?

Travel Tips
Although each of these tips has

are on your own!

| Get credit.
Most tour providers take
credit cards, which then allows you to spread out your payments over a
long time if you need to do that. If a tour provider does not take
credit card payments, then use the "cash advance" feature of your credit
card to pay for the trip.
Some credit cards give you a bonus
for each purchase, such as frequent flyer miles or credits toward
purchases. For example, the Amazon Visa gives you credit at their
online store featuring books, videos, music, travel gear, clothing, and
more. So you can use the bonus points from your trip purchase to get
maps, touring books or field guides, and other stuff for your trip!

| Ask your
rich uncle.
Even if you don't have a rich
uncle, let your extended family know about your desire to take an
educational travel opportunity. Many of your family members are
LOOKING for gifts to give that your really want! A
contribution toward your trip may be just the thing for the next holiday
gift! And I've had more than a couple of my travelers tell me that
they were surprised when a relative offered to pay for the whole thing!
Older adults, especially, realize the great value in travel experiences
and are often supportive of your desires to see the world. After
all, it is an investment in your education and in your future! |
| Education
support. If your tour is educational in
nature, especially if you will receive academic credit related to the
tour, you may be able to qualify for financial aid or a low-interest
education loan at your bank. Requirements vary, but your financial
aid office or local banker will be able to help you see if you qualify. |
