If you don't have a grade --and your WebCT has not
"crashed"-- then you probably forgot to click "View Results"
when you finished your test. Don't skip that step! Skip down one
paragraph to see how to fix this once it has happened.
If WebCT seems to "crash" . . .
Sometimes the browser Internet Explorer (IE) will become
corrupted and will not work properly. This can affect your test in WebCT
by "crashing" just when you click the button to "submit for
grading." Since the browser crashes before it submits your request
for grading, the test remains in WebCT as "finished" but "ungraded."
You also may not be able to get to the test to review it (until after it is
graded.
No worry. I can grade the test from my end IF YOU TELL
ME TO (I'm not always aware of "ungraded tests" because WebCT is
supposed to be grading them as soon as you tell it to --I have no way of knowing
when this doesn't work for you).
You may also try to nudge WebCT into grading your test
from your side of things. To try it, follow these steps:
- Go to My Grades then click on the test name. You'll
get a list of your attempts.
- Click on the attempt number that you want to have
graded. (Click
here for other ways to get to your test.)
- The whole test will appear. Scroll down to the bottom
of the test.
- If there is a button that says "Submit" then
click it. That should do the trick.
(If no "Submit" button appears, then this trick
won't work)
One solution is to use a different browser for your WebCT
tests. Good alternatives
to IE for this are Firefox and
Netscape
Navigator. You can get them free from the links below, or you can contact the WebCT help desk for
a copy of another browser on CD.

Netscape Navigator
Another alternative is to use a campus computer
or a computer at a public library.
