What's my ID and password?

For SCC students:

ID

  • Use the ID described on the WebCT entry page

    • This is the same as your SCC login ID for email and SCC Connection, such as kp123456

Don't have a SCC login ID?

Go to www.stchas.edu and click on the appropriate link.
You'll receive instructions there on how to obtain your SCC Login ID.

Password

  • Use the password given to you at the time it is first assigned

  • Change your password to something else after logging in for the first time, for better security

    • Do not give your password to anyone else

      • Don't even give it to your very best friend in the whole world.  Really.

    • If you lose your password, I can reset it or the WebCT help desk can reset it for you.  We can't tell you your existing password; we can only reset a new one.  Once reset, you can login and change it to something you'll remember next time.

      • Note: if you leave a message at my office or the WebCT help desk to reset your password, you must also leave a phone number!

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure that you type everything in carefully

    • Make sure that upper and lower case letters are exactly correct as you type

  • If you are using a bookmark or other saved link, it may be old information and linked to the wrong server

    • Type in www.stchas.edu by hand into your browser's address bar.  At the SCC home page, select "WebCT" from the left menu.

    • If you used WebCT in previous years, you may be linking to the OLD server at www.gatewayccc.org .  That server is no longer being used by SCC, even though it is still in use for other colleges.  Make sure you are linking to the SCC server.

  • If logging in still does not seem to work after trying these methods, contact the WebCT help desk at 922-8555

The correct course does not appear in My WebCT:

  • For my courses, we do not use the automatically generated "empty" course shell, even though it may appear in your screen.  Instead, use the one marked "multi" instead of the one marked with a specific section number.

  • Try to click the "Refresh" or "Reload" button in your browser menu

  • Try to logout of MyWebCT and then back in again

  • If you are using a bookmark or other saved link, it may be old information and linked to the wrong server

    • Type in www.stchas.edu by hand into your browser's address bar.  At the SCC home page, select "WebCT" from the left menu.

  • If logging in still does not seem to work for you, contact the WebCT help desk at 922-8555

When I enter the course, the course seems empty or imcomplete:

  • For my courses, we do not use the automatically generated "empty" course shell, even though it may appear in your screen.  Instead, use the one marked "multi" instead of the one marked with a specific section number.
