You've
logged on, but the WebCT quiz or test won't start? If
you had no problem logging in but then went to a quiz or test and clicked the
Begin Quiz button and then:
-
you received only a blank box instead of a quiz; or
-
you received a "network error" screen instead of
a quiz; or
-
you received a "web page doesn't exist" or
"web page isn't accessible"; or
-
anything besides the quiz,
you (or someone with access to your computer) probably
installed or activated software that prevents "pop up windows" such as
those annoying internet ads. Newer versions of browsers
may have built-in pop-up blockers.
Unfortunately, WebCT uses this pop-up window technology to
deliver quizzes and tests. That means that the
anti-pop-up-ad software is actually preventing WebCT from doing its
thing.
The solution is to uninstall the offending software or
deactivate it. You'll have to figure out how to do that yourself, of
course, because there are many different kinds of pop-up
blockers.
If your pop-up blockers are off, then try
shutting down WebCT and restarting it. If that doesn't work, try shutting
down your whole computer system and restart it.
It may also be quirks in your browser. Early versions of AOL and
some other browsers don't work well with WebCT's features.

here for a fuller explanation of the browser issue and how to fix it.
This
free browser works well with WebCT:

Another (easy) solution is to simply use another
computer. Computers are available at multiple locations on the SCC and SLU
campuses as well as at public libraries and other public locations.
You've logged on but the test you are looking for is missing or is unavailable?
Check to see if you have done the Student
Understanding quiz in WebCT. None of the other tests will be available
until after you have successfully completed the Student Understanding.
