Kevin
PattonDr. Kevin Patton has been leading educational tours since he
was first hired at the age of 16 to lead tours of the St. Louis Zoo near his boyhood home
in St. Louis, Missouri. He later went on to be a zookeeper and animal trainer there and at
other facilities around the country. In the early 1980s, after beginning his
career in college/university teaching, Patton began leading groups of students and other
adults on overseas adventures --and he hasn't stopped yet!
Patton has led groups on expeditions
and participated in explorations in 25
countries and five continents. In Europe, his
expeditions have visited France, Germany, Italy, England, Ireland,
Northern Ireland, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland,
Scotland, and Monaco. He has
also organized and led safaris to Africa, including destinations
in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania, and Latin
America, including Costa Rica, the Andes, and the Amazon basin. His safari to Australia included visits to rainforests,
the Great Barrier Reef, and the outback. In North America, he
co-led a tour to Quebec province in Canada and scouted out the Canadian Rockies
for future study tours. He also recently scouted out locations in Japan for
future study tours.

the 1998 safari in Tanzania. Here, he poses with the chief of a Maasai village the
group came upon in the famous Ngorongoro Crater.Kevin is proud to be a founding member of the St. Charles Community College's
Global Studies Group
and the founding chair of the
Study Tour Interest Group.
These groups actively
promote life-long learning and global awareness by offering outstanding educational
travel opportunities. He is also the webmaster of the
online edition of The Global Pages.
Kevin's experience as a tour leader, professor,
photographer, and zoo biologist --along with his natural knack for informal teaching--
makes his expeditions real adventures!
